Sorcha Wilson

Undergraduate Researcher

Growing up in Austin, I spent many days at the Austin Nature and Science Center and the Texas Memorial Museum, which fostered a love for the natural world and an interest in our role in it. Over the course of my time at UT, I have become particularly interested in epidemiology and the role disease plays in nature, especially in relation to shifts brought on by climate change. I am currently pursuing a BS in Biology with a specialization in Microbiology and Infectious Disease.

In the Kemp lab, I am working on the Stories of Ancient Resilience project as a part of Planet Texas 2050, in which we are currently examining the microbiota and pathogens present in our historical population of interest.
